Reasons we haven't been blogging

Jedd and I have been spending a fair amount of time thinking and talking about why we aren't blogging more. Time we should have spent blogging, you might suggest. And you're probably right. Here I present, in the form of reasons we haven't been blogging, some hopefully interesting updates.
| The view from along the river; one of our favorite ways to walk the 15 minutes downtown. |
First, it just doesn't seem like there's much to share. We're settling into a routine here in Ljubljana. We love going to the downtown open market and cooking so much delicious food. We're biking a lot and finding ways and places for exercise and our preferred places to study. We recognise, of course, that there are infinite little stories embedded into our daily routines and everyday lives here, we just don't always muster the energy to write about them. Also--life is starting to feel normal now. We don't tend to blog when we're just living our lives.

Second, I never feel like I have pictures to talk about some of the stories and insights I might want to share. Discovering the covered market, being able to have full interactions with vendors in Slovenian, conquering the daunting task of getting a swim membership--all of these things are interesting and fun but I don't usually have photos to accompany them. And a blog without photos?! Don't even mention it. Thankfully I've started to realize I can just horde photos from more exciting and visually stimulating days and fill them in with interesting stories even if they don't match. Like I've done here.

Third, we have been a bit busier over the last week or two than before. We have been going on short day trips and overnights and we've actually been doing more work! Jedd has been diving into Fulbright research, now that we have memberships to the intimidatingly quiet NUK reading room, and I have been studying the language more and even playing around with the idea of some potential research project ideas.
